  • Britt Lightning, guitarist and song-writer, grew up on a horse farm in Massachusetts. Britt’s passion for guitar began in high school when she discovered Van Halen. With a goal to learn and perform “Eruption”, Britt joined an after school guitar club that had just started up. Being the only female in the program, Britt quickly gained her peers’ respect by reaching and surpassing her goal. Dedicating more time to guitar, Britt sold her beloved horse and bought her first custom yellow Bengal Jackson Randy Rhoads Flying V, a guitar she still uses today as an official Jackson Endorsee. Britt’s performance career began with covering rock tunes in coffee houses and playing night clubs with original rock bands. Soon after Britt began to work on her own musical vision. Teaming up with the best female drummer she had ever heard, Britt’s all female original rock band JADED was born. Since JADED’s conception, the band has recorded with multi-platinum, Grammy Award winning producer Gary Katz (Steely Dan), has toured throughout the US and Europe performing in front of crowds up to 30,000 and supporting many national acts including Alice in Chains, Buckcherry, Twisted Sister, Disturbed and Godsmack. In addition to being JADED’s lead guitarist, primary songwriter and creative force, Britt also performs in the New York based all female rock musical Chix6, a Heart tribute band, and southern rock group Houndstone. Britt and her projects have been featured in many local and national publications such as Metal Edge Magazine, KISS Online, Jackson Guitars, Blabbermouth.com and The Boston Phoenix. Pursuing opportunities performing with pop artists, Britt was runner up as Lady Gaga’s guitarist for her Monster Ball world tour. Britt begins work on her first solo effort this fall and plans to have an album created for release in 2011.
