Last month, Against Me! frontman Tom Gabel announced that he is transgender and intended to begin the process of becoming a woman. The punk rock band has since been opening up for the Cult, and on Friday night at Manhattan’s Terminal 5, Gabel, known now as Laura Jane Grace, got an onstage assist by the legendary Joan Jett. For the occasion, Jett and Against Me! rocked the very fitting Replacements’ anthem “Androgynous.”
